New Executive Director - R. J. Lomas!

Please join us in welcoming our new executive director, Mr. R. j. Lomas, to the Chesterton Academy of St. George family!

Mr. Lomas brings over 25 years of experience and many skills to our growing school including Principal (St. Mary Williamston), Teacher (OLQM, St. Fabian, Shrine, St. Mary), Director of Enrollment (U of D Jesuit), Director of Admissions and Financial Aid (U of D Jesuit), Athletic Director (U of D Jesuit High School), and Management Team member (Shrine, U of D Jesuit) with proficiency in Principles and Techniques of Fundraising (IUPUI). Most recently, he served seven years as the principal of St. Mary Catholic, classical school in Williamston where he helped to erase a notable deficit, grow the school three-fold, and transform the curriculum and culture that is more in line with a Chesterton Academy, i.e. daily Mass, Christocentric, integrated curriculum, emphasis on virtue, authentically Catholic. Etc.

In his spare time, Mr. Lomas resides on a small, gentleman’s farm in Williamston where he has raised sheep, pigs, chickens and a dog named Scout. He is a gardener and likes to get his hands dirty.

“The mission of Chesterton Academy is so inline with what my life’s work and experiences have already been, i.e. promoting and teaching the formation of intelligent, rational, charitable, virtuous, life-long learners who are grounded in a strong Catholic faith tradition.  This is what motivates me and has provided me with a contagious enthusiasm for our Catholic faith and Catholic education!” says R. J.

Mr. Lomas will be responsible for the business aspects of the administration including finances, human resources, fundraising, strategic planning, public relations, and building/facility management.
