Ms. Abigail Monahan
Ms. Monahan is coming to Chesterton Academy of St. George after having completed her Masters in Classical Education this spring from Hillsdale College. Possessing a bachelors in Humanities from Ave Maria University.
Ms. Monahan has built up experience substituting and tutoring Latin at Hillsdale Academy the last few years and looks forward to bringing her experience to a full time classroom.
Ms. Monahan has always been drawn to teaching but did not seriously consider it until she first heard about classical education while attending a Chesterton school gala. She is excited to have the opportunity to teach literature, a subject about which she is passionate, in a way that integrates with the faith.
Mr. Tony Tibbetts
Mr. Tibbetts is coming to us after living in Vienna, Austria the past few years.
A graduate of the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, Mr. Tibbetts has been teaching history remotely online for schools here in the United States. Currently working on his Masters in educational leadership at Benedictine College, Mr. Tibbetts is excited to work in person with high school students in the Fall.
He brings with him a love and deep passion for history, having brought creative and exciting hands-on lessons into his classrooms.
In addition to teaching History, Mr. Tibbetts will be taking on the role of Dean of Students.
Mr. Jack Carter
Having earned his BA in Liberal Arts from Wyoming Catholic College in 2014, Mr. Carter moved to Ann Arbor in 2015 with his wife, Alena. There, he tutored for St. Augustine's Homeschool Enrichment Program for 7 years, teaching literature, Latin, history, philosophy and the scriptures, among other subjects. Now, he has brought his pedagogical joy and skill to bear to the Chesterton Academy of St. George, where he teaches the humanities. Mr. Carter recently completed a Master of Arts in Systematic Theology and Sacred Scripture from Christendom College's Graduate School.
