Mr. Joseph R. Gonzalez - Interim Headmaster
Mr. Max Crean

Mr. Max Crean

Mr. Max Crean brings with him the experience of serving as headmaster for the inaugural year of the Knights of Our Lady Classical Scholars Program in Kalamazoo.

Mr. Crean has received his bachelor's degree in Theology and Theatre from the Franciscan University of Steubenville and his masters in Sacred Theology from the International Theological Institute in Trumau, Austria. Additionally, he has cultivated three years of experience ministering and teaching as a Director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry for St. Joseph's Parish in Battle Creek.

Now he looks forward to meeting and serving the CASG family in the joyful encounter with Christ, who is Truth.

Dr. Joseph Torres

Dr. Joseph Torres

Dr. Torres entered the Catholic Church in his freshman year of college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he earned his BS in Mathematics in 2011. He then taught high school mathematics in South Louisiana for three years until God called him to Graduate School. He completed his PhD in 2020 and taught Math at Victoria College in Texas for 2 years before moving to Michigan. Dr Torres currently teaches Math and Choir at the Chesterton Academy of St George.

Ms. Anna Hendrickson

Ms. Anna Hendrickson

Born and raised a Catholic, here in Jackson Mi, Anna graduated from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids , Mi in 2015 with a Bachelors in Psychology and a minor in Biology.

After working for a few years in the medical field, Ms. Hendrickson felt called to a change of career. Through prayerful discernment and direction she made the decision to become a teacher of science.

She is a true believer that the sciences reveal God's love for us and she loves sharing that idea with her students.

Ms. Abigail Monahan

Ms. Abigail Monahan

Ms. Monahan is coming to Chesterton Academy of St. George after having completed her Masters in Classical Education this spring from Hillsdale College. Possessing a bachelors in Humanities from Ave Maria University.

Ms. Monahan has built up experience substituting and tutoring Latin at Hillsdale Academy the last few years and looks forward to bringing her experience to a full time classroom.

Ms. Monahan has always been drawn to teaching but did not seriously consider it until she first heard about classical education while attending a Chesterton school gala. She is excited to have the opportunity to teach literature, a subject about which she is passionate, in a way that integrates with the faith.

Mr. Tony Tibbetts

Mr. Tony Tibbetts

Mr. Tibbetts is coming to us after living in Vienna, Austria the past few years.

A graduate of the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, Mr. Tibbetts has been teaching history remotely online for schools here in the United States. Currently working on his Masters in educational leadership at Benedictine College, Mr. Tibbetts is excited to work in person with high school students in the Fall.

He brings with him a love and deep passion for history, having brought creative and exciting hands-on lessons into his classrooms.

In addition to teaching History, Mr. Tibbetts will be taking on the role of Dean of Students.

Mr. RJ Lomas

Mr. RJ Lomas

Mr. Lomas brings over 25 years of experience and many skills to our growing school including Principal (St. Mary Williamston), Teacher, Director of Enrollment (U of D Jesuit), Director of Admissions and Financial Aid (U of D Jesuit), Athletic Director (U of D Jesuit High School), and Management Team member (Shrine, U of D Jesuit) with proficiency in Principles and Techniques of Fundraising (IUPUI).

Most recently, he served seven years as the principal of St. Mary Catholic, classical school in Williamston.

In his spare time, Mr. Lomas resides on a small, gentleman’s farm in Williamston where he has raised sheep, pigs, chickens and a dog named Scout. He is a gardener and likes to get his hands dirty.

Mr. Ken Veenstra

Mr. Ken Veenstra

A longtime resident of the Jackson area, Ken brings more than a decade of nonprofit development experience, including donor cultivation, fundraising events, and community outreach. Most recently, he served in fund development for Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee & Hillsdale Counties, helping strengthen donor relationships and support charitable initiatives.

Ken also served for ten years as Board Treasurer for the Autism Society of Michigan and has extensive experience organizing fundraising events and community gatherings through his work with Siam Culinary Company. He holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and is excited to help advance the mission of Chesterton Academy of St. George through development, donor relations, and community engagement.

Mr. Ethan Graham

Mr. Ethan Graham

Mr. Graham is a graduate of Hillsdale College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Theory and Composition. He brings experience in choral conducting, band direction, private piano instruction, composition, and Catholic parish music ministry.

Currently serving as Music Director at two Catholic parishes and as a school band director, Ethan has demonstrated a gift for cultivating musical excellence and inspiring a love for beauty in young people. Having entered the Catholic Church within the past year, he is excited to help form students in truth, goodness, and beauty through Sacred Music at Chesterton Academy of St. George.
